Eleven years ago, when I got home from Japan after my final tour with Cirque du Soleil, a communications consulting firm invited me to join their small team.
Stand & Deliver and I have grown a lot since then and last week I finished saying good-bye to my fifty plus colleagues and dozens of clients as I headed into the next phase of my career.
My job as a dad, helping my sons launch into this meshuggeneh world, will now get more of my attention and I will have time for writing, directing and performing.
At the moment, I am finishing a script for 'La Sirène' at the California Revels, Rebecca Novick, Mark Valdez and I are in the middle of the research phase of a three-year project called 'Circus/Borders' and I’m starting the prep work on two directing gigs in 2022. (If you promise not to tell anyone, I’ll drop a hint about a screenwriter adapting one of my books for TV).
Since I have also fallen in love with communications consulting over the last decade, I plan to continue coaching, training and teaching folks in the non-profit and for-profit worlds through Raz Communications (stay tuned for more news on that front).
