It’s not yet 2025 and already I’m in love.
I love Kareem Abdul Jabbar, and not just his sky hook:
"We will only get the truth from the government if we demand it and provide consequences when we are lied to. First, we have to start by cherishing the truth instead of treating it like a bad drummer in a rock band. We do that by learning how to distinguish when we’re being lied to, [which is] as important to self-defense as judo and more likely to protect you than a concealed weapon. Second, when someone in power lies, we don’t brush it off with a cynical 'they’re all liars.' We hold their feet to the fire. Demand the truth. Every. Single. Time."

And I love Korea, and not just their TV shows:
- A democratically elected president declares martial law, brings the media under his control and bans political activities and strikes.
- Within hours, mass crowds gather to protest, including many union members.
- People in the streets boost legislators over walls so they can vote against the martial law declaration.
- Lawmakers, including members of the president’s own party, unanimously vote to overturn martial law.
- Six hours after he had declared martial law, the president is forced to lift his declaration.
- Now he’s impeached and the former defense minister is in jail.
And I really love the Midwest Book Review, largely because they loved my new book:
According to the Midwest Book Review, where An International Circus Affair is the “Reviewer's Choice,” my new book “captures circus history at its best” and then it “expands its audience to include business readers, cross-cultural analysts, and historians as well as general-interest readers. This gives it a strength and appeal that makes it a top choice.”
